Biography
Susana Depetris is based in the southern Sydney suburb of Loftus with her husband and son. She was born in Argentina and moved to Australia in 1991. She studied at St. George TAFE, attaining an Associate Diploma in Fine Arts and then at the University of Western Sydney, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts.
Depetris has been an abstract artist for over four decades. Her work is centred around visual perception and how paint can be used to distil the essence of seeing. Her work is developed in series, experimenting with gradual changes on a motif to investigate how these variations can affect the perception of the image.
Recently her work has been included in various group exhibitions in Sydney, Melbourne and Berlin, and she held two solo exhibitions in Sydney.
